Nothing More Than FEELINGS…

Published by garryblanson under Blogs

I was just riding along in the car and an old melody went across
my mind.I remember first hearing it in the late 70’s.Although I can’t
tell you who wrote it.For some reason,I still picture hearing the voice
singing these words.Feelings, nothing more than feelings.Trying to
forget my,feelings of love.
Those words are in alignment with what I had listened to a couple
of days ago.The cd I listened to talked about, sometimes the reason
a person overeats is because;they’re not eating to get full. They’re
actually eating to recapture the good “feeling”they had the last
time they ate(food, candy, and drinks included). The samething can
be said about many of the addictions people have. They want to
experience that same good “feeling”,over and over and over again.
Yes,guard your thinking, and you better darn well try to control your
“feelings.” Your “feelings” are directly connected to your emotions,
and they can affect your thoughts.Which in turn can cause a negative
effect.”Feelings” have been linked to fights, breakups, and even killings!
Also,on the flipside of things.”Feelings” can lead to positive things as
well.Motivation, inspiration, and desire all gain strength through our
“feelings.”However,it’s the negative “feelings” that do the most damage
and steal the most joy.
Well, how can you alter the negative “feelings?” You can modify the
negative”feelings” by doings these things:

1. pray,pray,pray
2. set positive goals
3. don’t prejudge the outcome of things
4. create a positive environment around you
5. read positive books,magazines,and articles
6. learn to recognize when you’re being negative
7. look for the good in people, situations, and things
8. listen to positive people(cd,tape, dvd, radio, and tv)
9. keep a positive mental attitude(think positive thoughts)
10. avoid or spend very little time around negative people, places, and things

Interpretations

Published by garryblanson under Blogs

They say,”beauty is in the eye of the

beholder.”Well,when it comes to interpretations;

“interpretations are distorted by the thoughts in

your mind.”

What I mean by this is,whatever

thoughts you’re thinking while doing things ,

will cause a direct effect on your interpretation.

This is one of the reason’s why we must be

careful to listen closely when people are trying

to communicate with us. Listening and hearing

are two different  species.Just because you hear

someone when they’re speaking ,it doesn’t

mean that you were listening to them.

Listening is a skill that one must practice daily.

The more you practice listening, the better you

become at listening. When you don’t listen to

what is being said, your thoughts get thrown in

with the information and you generally get the

wrong interpretation of what was said.

       Otherwise known as misinterpretation.

Misinterpretations happen all the time[mostly

when we fail to listen properly].We call this a

lack of communication.Lack of communication is

very disruptive, and is the cause of many of our

misunderstandings.Once again,if we would just

listen;we would avoid many of these false

interpretations.Therefore,we can see how

valuable listening is to interpreting.

Many times when a person comes to us with

a problem. All they really want is for someone

to listen to them.

You see, listening  is how we get the proper

 ”  interpretation.”

” Self ” is talking!

Published by garryblanson under Blogs

”Self ” is talking, what a fascinating topic.

Especially when everyone considers you weird

or crazy if you are seen publicly talking to

yourself.Well, what about when “self ”

publicly talks to you.You know like when

someone asks you if you would like to play a

game that you really want to play, but” self “starts

talking to you and you say;that’s okay I’ll just

watch. What about when you wanted to apply for

that top position.Once again,”self” started talking

to you and you ended up throwing the

  application into the trash can.

If the truth be told,” self ” is your greatest

enemy(and one of your greatest assets).

Futhermore When you think about it, it’s “self ”

who’s always getting in the way, always coming

up with excuses why we can’t do this or why we

can’t  have that ; and it’s “self ” who we must

  learn to control.

[  Yea, you may not talk to yourself ; but “self ”

is constantly talking to you! ]

The best way to guard yourself against  ” self ”

is to constantly read positive books, listen to

  positive tapes/cds,and by surrounding yourself

with positive people. In short, think positive,

  act positive,and be positive!Also,use positive

affirmations to drownout ” self ’s ” (negative)

  voice.

Like Stephen Covey said, you are the

programmer. It’s up to you to program or

  reprogram ” self .”

Dream it , Plan it , Go do it !

Published by garryblanson under Blogs

              Have you ever dreamed about

what you wanted to do with your life?

What you wanted to do or become.

places you wanted to travel to and the

 things you wanted to have.

Well,I’m here to let you know that

your dreams can still come true.

First, you have to get a pen and some

paper and write all of your dreams on

 paper.Once you have prioritized each

of them, you needto develop a plan.

After you have developed a plan, you

need to go and work your plan until

 your dreams are reached.

“If your dreams are to be ; it is up to

 you,not me !”
