Hello everybody,I’ve been reading again and this book is
 the bomb! The title of the book is;
” Why do I keep doing that?” by Dennis Wholey.
In the book,he talks about how so much of what we do now
(our habits)can be traced back to the habits we had as a child.
Futhermore,he enlisted the aide of several of his Dr. of
psychology friends to give some of their personal experiences
as to why people,”keep repeating” their negative behaviors.

What are YOUR words creating ?

Published by garryblanson under Uncategorized

While listening to a motivational CD,I thought about the story

of  creation and how God created everything.I thought to myself;

if God created everything and we were made in his image. Then

we have the power to create things too!We have the power to

create our own future. We have the power to decide what we want

to do with our lives.

Also, the CD talked about the power of our thoughts and words.

The things we think about along with the words that we say,can

be poison or power. The main reason why we’re not as successful

as we can be,is because of our thought patterns and the words we

use.

A successful person’s thoughts and word patterns are extremely

differently from that of an underachiever’s.Which means that they

also have different habits and actions. You see, your actions precede

your emotions. Before you can drop even one tear, you must first

think about something. Before you yell at someone ,you must first

think about it.Before you can build anything with your hands, you

must create it in your mind first. Before you can create anything,

you must think about it first.

Futhermore,we know that you can’t use negative thoughts and

words to create anything positive. You have to use positive

thoughts and words to create positive things. So be very careful of

the thoughts and words that you think about or use.Your words

and thoughts have the power to make or brake you.

In Your Face Racism

Published by garryblanson under Uncategorized

We often talk about racism and how we will react in different

racially charged situations.Well, yesterday I experienced, ” In Your

Face Racism.I was at the local mall with my kids waiting for the

ticket booth to open.(We had to stand outside a gate). While

waiting a white family also walked up to the gate. After about 10

minutes, they let up the gate. However, there was  misunderstanding

about who should get their tickets first.{you think that grown-ups

could of worked this out without resorting to making racially

charged statements, specially with the kids standing there}.

Nevertheless, the white male decided to bring up the whole

Jena ( the Jena 6 ) situation. He even went as far as to say

that he should of brought his rope with him.

I don’t know if it was the fact that I’m a Christian,if it was because

I knew that my kids were watching,or because I could tell how

childish this guy was acting.Whatever the reason,I looked at him

in disbelief, and then stepped up to the ticket counter and paid for

 our tickets.

After we left the mall,I discussed the situation;how the white man

reacted and how I reacted.I let them know that they have to be

ready to react positive to,”  In Your Face Racism.”

We can’t control what other people say or do.However,we can

control what we say,do,and most importantly;how we respond to

 what they say or do.

I believe we’re going to have to do like they did doing the Civil

Rights Movement.During that era,the people trained the people

how to react to the negative things that were said and done to

 them.

Yes,I know that racism is alive and well( I just experienced it

yesterday ).However, I refuse to let racism taint the way I feel

about my white friends and associates. And I have to teach my

kids to respect other races and our differences

Avery Johnson; Louisiana Legend

Published by garryblanson under Uncategorized

Well, last night’s lost to the New Orleans Hornets ended the

Dallas Mavericks hopes of winning the NBA championship.

Also, it prompted the Mavericks owner to fire the headcoach,

Avery Johnson.Although  Avery has won the coach of the year

award, and has been successful in getting his team to the playoffs

each year since he has been the headcoach ; the owner felt that it

was time for a change.

With all that being said,as a Lousianian,I would like to take this

time to express my sincere appreciation to Avery Johnson for

showing the world that even a small townboy(Avery Johnson),

 from a smalltown University(Southern University);can not only

play with the NBA best, but can coach with some of the best

as well.Avery is a perfect example of a little man with a very

 big heart.

The state of  Louisiana may not recognize Avery as a Legend.

However,at garryblanson.com,we already have made the

acknowledgement.Futhermore, if you are from Louisiana or

if you are a Southern University Jaguar Alumni member.Be sure

that you get the word out,and tell everyone that Avery Johnson

  is a Louisiana Legend.
